Moving NAFEM Forward…
“We are dedicated to engaging our members and moving our industry ever forward.”
You might recall seeing that statement before as it’s the first of NAFEM’s four core values. It’s especially significant as the board has completed its review of our strategic plan. I’m pleased to report that the progress from our 2016 planning discussions was validated by all of you who completed our spring Member Needs Assessment survey.
Engagement by all our member companies is critical to our long-term success. We appreciate the time everyone took to complete the survey and what great insight we gained from that process. The good news is that survey respondents validated the plans the board outlined for the association. We will continue to focus on providing value through education and training, advocacy, partnerships with industry stakeholders and channel-partner associations, member engagement, and industry awareness/brand marketing.
At the June board meeting, we reviewed your feedback in detail and then took the time to map your comments against the ideas, programs and services we outlined for NAFEM for the next five years. We analyzed what we need to do to achieve our goals, attached the metrics to track our success, and discussed how we best provide you with updates. While most respondents indicated they were pleased with the breadth of programs NAFEM offers, many of you said you were unaware of, or hadn’t participated in NAFEM activities beyond The NAFEM Show.
There are lots of programs – new to the mix and ongoing – underway by NAFEM for NAFEM. That’s why we’re holding a series of Town Hall meetings across the country. Over the next three months, we’ll be pulling into Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Cincinnati, Miami and Hartford on our listening tour. We’ve got survey findings and plans to share, and we also want to dig a little deeper with you on some specifics regarding educational offerings, certification, advocacy and engagement.
We certainly hope to see as many members as possible. Watch your email, our YouTube channel, our social media channels and this website for Town Hall specifics. I hope to make a few of these meetings to listen in. I look forward to your feedback!
