Amplifying members’ voices

NAFEM regularly joins forces with other organizations to advance the industry’s perspective with elected and appointed officials. Highlights of recent outreach follow.

  • NAFEM and more than 280 members of the California Sustainability Coalition again reached out to California Governor Gavin Newson requesting a meeting to understand how the state intends to implement its commitment to zero emissions by 2035. The coalition shared its collective concerns, including trucking industry challenges, power grid and substation limitations, transportation and electric vehicle infrastructure, and the potential loss of jobs. As a result, select Coalition members met with members of the Governor’s staff to share their concerns and have, again, requested a meeting with the Governor to address the real-world constraints that are impacting the transition to zero emissions.
