NAFEM offers a comprehensive menu of products and services that our members take full
advantage of:
The NAFEM Show (scheduled February of odd-numbered years) attracts approximately
20,000 foodservice professionals and features 500+ exhibitors displaying products for food
preparation, cooking, storage and table service. Connecting buyers and sellers
of foodservice equipment and supplies biennially, The NAFEM Show provides a showcase
for the hottest and coolest products available and features education sessions and social events
with big-name entertainment.
Debuting in 2011, the NAFEM Showplace is an online, 24/7 marketplace created to extend the
energy and communication generated by each face-to-face NAFEM trade show. It serves as a
resource for the entire foodservice industry, a place to research equipment options and interact
with manufacturers and other users. NAFEM Showplace—the foodservice equipment world at
your fingertips.
In 1987, NAFEM established the CFSP Program to create standards for foodservice professionalism.
More than 1,000 individuals have earned the designation and the program has been licensed in Central
America and Great Britain. It awards special recognition to those foodservice industry professionals
who have demonstrated high levels of competence and ethics.
In 2010, NAFEM and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) announced Brad Barnes, associate dean
for food production at the CIA, as the first recipient of the NAFEM Professorship in Culinary Arts. The
position is dedicated to specialized research in food equipment manufacturing, curriculum development
and industry education and strengthens the relationship among the CIA, NAFEM, NAFEM members and
foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturers.
In February of even-numbered years, NAFEM hosts a three-day workshop geared toward CEOs,
CFOs, COOs and directors of member companies. Education is offered each day on a wide range
of topics designed to inspire you personally and professionally. Plenty of networking time with industry
peers is built in to encourage the exchange of ideas and expertise.
Each month we distribute the latest and greatest NAFEM and industry news to all NAFEM
members via our electronic newsletter, NAFEM online.
Serving on a committee offers members the unique opportunity to influence critical areas of the
industry, including professional development, global markets, industry relations, legislative,
regulatory and technical issues.
NAFEM's voice in statehouses and on Capitol Hill gets louder and stronger each year. Tackling
everything from trade barriers and tariffs, to environmental regulations and energy issues, our
advocacy on behalf of our members continues to grow.
Industry professionals look to NAFEM's biennial Size & Shape of the Industry Study to assist in
business planning, new product development and benchmark setting. Additional comprehensive
reports available exclusively to NAFEM members include our Operations & Supply Chain and Wage
& Benefits studies.
Industry standards and requirements are constantly changing. NAFEM stays up to date on new
standards from organizations such as NSF, providing you with a means for submitting your input
on standards development.
