NAFEM Scholarship Program Offers Incentives
Be a hero and make your operator customers aware they may be eligible for NAFEM’s scholarship program, offering free show registration and up to $500 for travel expenses if they meet the following criteria:
• Applicant must be a member in good standing of an allied organization.
• Applicant must not have attended The NAFEM Show in 2009.
• Applicant must currently be employed as a foodservice industry professional.
• Applicant must reserve and stay in a hotel room under his/her name through Travel Planners, The NAFEM Show’s official housing coordinator.

NAFEM Announces Professorship in Culinary Arts
NAFEM and The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) announce that Brad Barnes, CIA associate dean for food production, is the first recipient of the NAFEM Professorship in Culinary Arts. The new position is dedicated to specialized research in foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturing, curriculum development and industry education. Barnes, a Certified Master Chef (CMC), is a 1987 CIA graduate and currently is responsible for developing the curriculum of the college’s production classes. He also participates in the design of the CIA’s kitchen classrooms and conducts equipment research, evaluating emerging technology to meet the demands of the industry for quality volume production.

NAFEM has revamped its industry calendar and we need your input. The new calendar includes a feature that allows you to download events into your personal calendar. Once you have visited the site to add an event, please allow 48 hours for NAFEM staff to review the submissions and make them live.
