Funds Available to Schools for Food Equipment Purchases
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the “economic stimulus”
bill, signed by President Obama in February) provides $100,000,000 that can be
used by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to purchase
new equipment or to renovate or replace existing equipment. The funds have been allocated to
states by the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service
(FNS),
based on the states’ school foods program administrative expense allocation. Visit

Employee Free Choice Act The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) continues to organize at the
state and national level, lobbying against the Employee Free Choice Act, which
was recently introduced in both the House and Senate. For details on how to get involved,
