Amplifying Members’ Voices

NAFEM regularly joins forces with other organizations to advance the industry’s perspective with elected and appointed officials. Highlights of recent outreach include:

  • NAFEM joined hundreds of national and state chambers of commerce and associations in opposing the elimination of deductions for state and local business taxes known as B-SALT deductions. “State and local business taxes are not optional; they are necessary expenses incurred in carrying on business…limiting the B-SALT deduction would lead to a massive tax increase on businesses of all sizes.”
  • NAFEM and 40 other associations shared their concerns over the Department of Health and Human Services’ plans to reduce the workforce at the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory that tests and certifies respiratory protective devices. Of particular concern is protecting workers by “preventing unscrupulous actors from flooding the market with counterfeit PPE.”
