Latest NAFEM survey showcases increasing regulatory compliance burdens

Regulations and the cost of compliance are escalating at such a rate that they have become the top business concerns of members who responded to NAFEM’s recent supply chain and business challenges survey. Increasing regulatory burdens are stopping those who responded from investing in new hires, new equipment and business growth.

Panama Canal further reduces crossings

Due to the region’s ongoing drought, the Panama Canal Authority will reduce the number of transits from 36 to 38 daily down to 31, effective Nov. 1. Business Insider reported that some shipping firms are paying millions of dollars to purchase earlier places in line.
