Small-business owners optimistic

More than half of all small-business owners participating in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce/MetLife Q2 Small Business Index anticipate their revenue increasing this year, up 10 percentage points compared to last quarter. Of those responding, 27 percent rate the overall U.S. economy as good, up from 21 percent who said the same in Q1 2021. And 65 precent of small businesses responding now believe that the worst of the pandemic is behind us. Survey findings going back to 2017 provide a useful barometer for gauging the perspective of small businesses, which play a significant role in the U.S. economy.
