CBP postpones payment of some import duties

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has suspended the deadline for some duties, taxes and fees in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For merchandise entering the U.S. in March and April, expenses can be postponed for 90 days from the original due date. Items subject to Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports, and those subject to Section 2332 tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. are considered “trade remedies” and are not eligible for postponement.
