CARB previews additional approaches for reducing GHG emissions

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently held a webinar to discuss additional ways it might further reduce GHG emissions from the industrial sector to meet its 2045 carbon neutrality commitment. Initial concepts include nature-based solutions to offset CO2 emissions such as creating artificial carbon sinks (reforestation and planting massive areas of vegetation that absorb more carbon than they release). While this discussion was forward-looking and limited to manufacturing facilities in California, other states often follow California’s lead and may look to these concepts to achieve their carbon neutrality goals.
