DOE playing key role in move toward clean energy

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is charged with guiding the country’s transition to a global clean energy economy. In doing so, it focuses – among other areas – on increasing the generation of electric power from renewable sources and improving the energy efficiency of homes, buildings and industries. EERE collaborates with private organizations, researchers and other nations to achieve its goals.
