NAFEM members speak out about negative effects of tariffs

The Trump administration has imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum and hundreds of products imported from China in what seems to be an escalating trade war. In response, many nations – including some of our historic allies – are retaliating with their own tariffs, including China, Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

“Whether or not [our stories] will resonate with the administration, nobody seems to know,” Charlie Souhrada, CFSP, NAFEM’S vice president, regulatory & technical affairs told CNBC Asia’s Oriel Morrison. Recently, Souhrada appeared on the show “Street Signs” and spoke about the impacts of the Section 301 China Tariffs on NAFEM members.

How have the tariffs impacted NAFEM members, themselves? Recently, we asked our member organizations to share their Section 232 Steel and Aluminum and Section 301 China tariff stories. Here’s what some of them had to say:

At NAFEM, we hear your stories and will continue to fight for regulations and practices that promote a level playing field and a healthy, competitive foodservice E&S manufacturing industry.
