NAFEM partners with Heroes MAKE America program to provide skilled manufacturing workforce

October 31, 2019

“Every year, more than 200,000 U.S. service members return to civilian life,” according to the Manufacturing Institute. And over the years, our industry has seen the value in these veterans joining our workforce – both for service members and manufacturers alike.

The Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America (HMA) program is dedicated to providing the industry-specific skills and certifications veterans need to complete the transition from the military into manufacturing’s open positions. Building on their already strong work ethic and critical thinking skills, this initiative focuses on further developing career skills and technical training for manufacturing opportunities – with a special focus on hard-to-fill jobs.

NAFEM proudly supports the HMA program as an official association partner. Through this partnership, our members have access to recruiting from this select pool of uniquely trained and skilled candidates.

As labor shortages and the skills gap continue to be a concern for businesses, programs like HMA are all the more valuable in helping restore balance and advance our industry. Together, we can connect our nation’s returning heroes to rewarding, fulfilling job opportunities that benefit us all.
