Expect delays at U.S. ports

Flexport freight forwarder and customs broker reports extremely long delays at many U.S. ports, including Miami, Chicago, Memphis, New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles and Long Beach. The company reports that “congestion has worsened this year due to increased volume in anticipation of U.S. tariff hikes.” Additionally, many ports are not allowing incoming vessels to discharge containers until the current backlog of intermodal containers are removed and/or transferred to rail.
