Amplifying members’ voices

NAFEM regularly joins forces with other organizations to advance the perspective of the commercial foodservice equipment and supplies industry with elected and appointed officials. Following are recent examples.

  • Organizations representing small businesses in every sector of the economy, including NAFEM, called on Congress to vote for H.R.8265, which would amend the Small Business Act and the CARES Act to establish a program for second draw loans and make other modifications to the Paycheck Protection Program.
  • NAFEM also joined other organizations supporting the Paycheck Protection Program SmallBusiness Enhancement Act (H.R.7894). The bipartisan bill would provide critical help for small businesses and organizations that continue to face unprecedented challenges from the ongoing pandemic.
  • NAFEM is a member of COVID Relief Now, a new coalition of nearly 200 major public and private sector groups across the U.S. calling for “No Recess without Relief.” In a letter to elected officials, the coalition implored Congress to not leave town for the 2020 elections without passing additional COVID economic relief, stating millions of jobs and the survival of small businesses, as well as vital government services, are on the line.
  • More than 2,300 organizations, including NAFEM, asked Congress to pass COVID-19 relief and include 501(c)(6) organizations in the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). These nonprofit organizations, like NAFEM, have been without this essential relief made available to almost every other sector of the economy. Access to PPP funds will allow these organizations to continue to provide resources, education and support for America’s industries and professions.
