In non-NAFEM show years, we invite NAFEM members to join us for the Annual Meeting and Management Workshop to learn, network and share with industry peers. This amazing 3-day event is filled with inspiring talks, industry insights and innovations, chances to connect with valuable business partners and so much more. Our 2020 event will also be rolling out a new schedule compared to previous years. That’s right, we listened to members and decided the 2020 event will now run from Tuesday to Friday. While we were unable to make the dates mesh with our CFESA colleagues, we’re very excited for a NAFEM-only event this time around.
We’re still finalizing the conference itinerary but with great dining, museums, Miami sightseeing and nightlife close by, we know attendees will have packed schedules. Take a look below to see the tentative agenda for the 2020 Annual Meeting and Management Workshop.
Meet & Greet Opening Reception & Dinner
What better way to get the workshop started than with a casual get together. There will be cocktails, there will be food, and fabulous opportunities to connect with friends and colleagues as we kick off three days of networking and learning.
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 19
It’s All About the Data
The first day provides you with as much data as we can muster up. Think — an overall economic outlook for the years ahead, industry-specific data and that all-important voice of the customer information/operator outlook. A combination of speaker-led sessions, tech-like talks, panels and case histories, round out the day.
Annual Business Meeting Luncheon
A lot has been happening at NAFEM – new programs and services, partnerships and of course, our work on the hill to protect and advocate for members’ interests. Learn more about all that NAFEM offers and how you can engage and contribute to NAFEM’s long-term success. It’s also a changing of the guard as Joe Carlson, CFSP, Lakeside Manufacturing, Inc., passes the reins of the NAFEM presidency to Rob Connelly, CFSP, Henny Penny Corporation.
YEF Exclusive Session – What’s Hot! What’s Cool! What’s Next!
YEF participants will gather for a facilitated discussion on topics of their choice. This is a great way for our YEFers to reconnect, and kick off the year with YEF-exclusive learning opportunities.
A Taste of Miami Reception
The city of sandy beaches, flamingos, fast cars and white jackets (hello Crockett & Tubbs) is all about our Taste of Miami reception. Mix and mingle, enjoy some munchies and a cool libation before exploring the area on your own for dinner and nightlife attractions.

Disruption: The Evolution of the Value Chain
The evolution of the value chain, and manufacturer/distributor relationships are changing at a rapid-fire pace. What does this all mean for your world, and how is the digital world we live in driving change in your business? How can we expect these changes to continue in the years ahead, and what do you need to know to stay ahead and on your game? Mark Dancer leads us through original research he’s conducted for NAFEM on the disruption in the value chain and will get you thinking about what to consider as you evolve your business. Additional speakers comment on the digital revolution across a variety of industries and what they’ve done as solution providers for their customers. Anticipate a lively and timely discussion that focuses on customer needs and then works back to what you need to know to stay relevant.
We’ll disrupt the conversation with lunch, but the discussion continues. Content will end by 3:30 p.m.
Wynwood Walls – A Night at the Museum
Thursday night we head off property for a great evening of food, drink and entertainment. Wynwood Walls is a local graffiti museum. Installations change frequently – there will be a lot to see, a lot to drink, and a lot to eat. We’ll enjoy ocean breezes, no doubt a dazzling sunset and the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing night with friends and colleagues.

Making Your Company the Best it Can Be
We talk a lot about delighting the customer – always being at the ready to meet their needs. But meeting the customer needs starts at home. The AMMW Content Subcommittee has been hard at work identifying a multitude of topics that resonate with our member companies. How do you find that next generation and when you do, how do you capitalize on their talents and infuse their excitement into the company culture? How do you build a sustainable culture? In a rapidly changing, fractured, device-driven society, how do you get above the fray and maintain that important connection with your associates, vendors and partners? Marketing tips and tricks to stay relevant in the fast-paced environment that is our industry? High tech/high touch? Is that the future? There’s a lot to cover and a lot to consider that will leave you energized and motivated and chock-full of new ideas.
