1999 Model Food Code

The FDA Food Code is endorsed by the International Food Safety Council, of which NAFEM is a sponsor. The Code provides a model by which state regulatory authorities may develop or update their own food safety rules. Although it is neither federal law nor regulation, the Food Code is used by industry and state and local regulatory agencies across the country and helps achieve consistency in health regulations among these various regulatory jurisdictions.
