Requirements Before making arrangements to take the CFSP exam locally, candidates for the Certified
Foodservice Professional program must submit their completed personal data form
(application) along with the current fee of $150. (CFSP candidates must have a minimum of
5 points on their personal data form to be eligible to take the exams.) If retaking the
exam there is a $25 retake fee that must be received before the test will be sent to the
proctor.
Arrangements It is the responsibility of the CFSP candidate or organizing party to choose a
proctor to monitor the exam and to locate an appropriate site. The proctor’s
professional background should be in education or a related field, for the reason that he or
she will be familiar with exam procedures. Also any, member of the NAFEM Board of
Directors or NAFEM Industry Education committee is eligible to serve as a proctor for an examination.
When this individual has been selected and is agreeable,
their name, address and telephone number, and a copy of their credentials should be
provided to the CFSP office. This must be done no more 30 days prior to the testing date. All
testing material will be sent to the proctor. The proctor must return the
completed exams to NAFEM Headquarters within 48 hours of giving the exam.
The exam can be taken at a school, library, town or village
hall, etc., but should not be taken at the CFSP candidate’s office. When the location
for the exam has been determined, this information, along with the proctor information and
a list of the candidates and their addresses and phone numbers, should be provided to the
CFSP office no later than two weeks prior to the examination date.
Certification A score of 75% or above is needed to achieve certification. In the event a score falls
bellow 75% a $25.00 fee will be charged for re-taking the exam. We ask the candidates
after taking the examination not call the CFSP offices with requests for information
related to their exam for at least four weeks. Candidates will receive their results in
the mail. Candidates will be notified of their score in as timely a period as possible.
Scores are treated with confidentiality and will be issued only to the individual CFSP
candidate.
CFSP personnel are available at the NAFEM offices to answer
questions related to the above exam information or to discuss other Certified Foodservice
Professional Program matters with candidates.
For additional questions or to register for a local exam, please contact Vonceil Roberts at +1.312.821.0201 or
